The gallery was opened in 1979 by a group of artists whose goal was to create a gallery full of exhibitions that showcase and display regional, national, and international artist’s work that explores relevant issues surrounding society through contemporary art.
Today, the Delaware Contemporary houses 7 galleries with 26 artists’ studios, a gallery shop, classrooms, and an amphitheater. There is so much to explore and discover while visiting the galleries that’ll stimulate your own creativity through the selection of ever-changing exhibits, programs, activities, and special events.
