The unincorporated community is situated in the central region of Sussex County in the state of Delaware. It has an elevation of 46 feet. The communities of Wood Branch and Flea Hill are just to the north of the community. Shortly and Woodcrest Estates are to its south. The main roadways that travel through the neighborhood are Piney Grove Road, Shortly Road, Kruger Road, and Deanna’s Way.

History

The area is home to the historical Providence United Methodist Church. The church was established in 1865, and services were initially held in the Rogers School. They continued to meet in the school until 1886 when the congregation built on land donated by Harrison Rogers. The land was dedicated by Jacob NicklThe school closed in 1932, and the building served as the Community Hall. A new building was constructed in 1904 and moved to its present site between West Piney Grove Road, County Road 329, and Huffman Drive in 1933. The church still hosts services for the local community.
